Meet the travel health team

Our travel health service is pharmacist-led. Every patient is seen by a registered healthcare professional working within clear clinical governance at our Rochdale clinic in Greater Manchester.

Clinical credentials

Alicia Barker, Superintendent Pharmacist, registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC 2241860).

Scope of practice

Vaccines are administered under Patient Group Direction (PGD) and Patient Specific Direction (PSD) frameworks, within the pharmacist's scope of practice.

Clinical responsibilities

  • Suitability assessment for each patient and trip
  • Contraindication screening before any vaccine is given
  • Management of adverse events, including anaphylaxis

Safeguarding

We are committed to patient safety. Where it is in your best interest, we refer to your GP or to emergency services, and we follow safeguarding procedures appropriate to a registered pharmacy.
