About Flu Vaccination

Seasonal flu vaccination helps reduce the risk of influenza and its complications. At Longeva Wellness, vaccination is provided through a pharmacy-led service with a clinical assessment before administration to confirm suitability.

Who Should Consider Flu Vaccination?

Flu vaccination may be appropriate for adults who want seasonal protection, including people at increased risk of complications. Some people may be eligible for vaccination through the NHS; others may choose a private vaccination service.

What to Expect at Your Appointment

Before vaccination, a healthcare professional will review relevant medical history, allergies, current health and previous vaccine reactions. If vaccination is suitable, it is administered during the appointment and aftercare advice is provided.

After Your Vaccination

Common side effects can include soreness at the injection site, tiredness, headache, muscle aches or a mild temperature. These effects are usually short-lived. Serious allergic reactions are uncommon, and the clinical team is trained to recognise and respond to medical emergencies.

When to Seek Medical Help

Seek urgent medical help if you develop severe breathing difficulty, swelling of the face, lips or throat, collapse, confusion or another severe or rapidly worsening reaction. In an emergency, call 999.

Booking and Availability

Appointments can be arranged directly through Longeva Wellness. Please bring relevant vaccination records or medical information where available. The team can advise on suitability, seasonal timing and whether other vaccinations may be relevant to you.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many flu vaccinations do adults usually need?

Most adults who choose seasonal flu vaccination receive one dose for that flu season. Individual circumstances can differ, so suitability is confirmed at consultation.

How quickly does flu vaccination work?

Protection is not immediate and generally takes around two weeks to develop.

Can I have a flu vaccination if I am unwell?

Minor illness does not always prevent vaccination, but vaccination may need to be delayed if you are acutely unwell. The clinician will assess this before treatment.

Do I need flu vaccination every year?

Seasonal flu vaccines are updated and protection can reduce over time, so annual vaccination may be recommended depending on your circumstances.
