When to seek urgent medical help
A sudden extremely severe headache, new weakness or numbness, confusion, difficulty speaking, loss of consciousness, seizure or other new neurological symptoms requires urgent medical assessment. A new or substantially changed headache pattern should also be assessed appropriately.
