Urinary tract infections (UTIs) can cause symptoms such as pain or burning when passing urine, needing to urinate more frequently or urgently and lower abdominal discomfort. Longeva Wellness provides confidential pharmacist-led assessment in Rochdale for patients across Greater Manchester.
Your UTI consultation
Your pharmacist will review your symptoms, how long they have been present, relevant medical history, current medicines and factors that may affect the most appropriate next step. Not every urinary symptom is caused by a UTI, so assessment is important.
Treatment and advice
Where treatment is clinically appropriate and you meet the relevant eligibility criteria, your pharmacist will discuss suitable options and how to use them safely. Antibiotics are not automatically appropriate for every urinary symptom.
When further medical assessment is needed
Fever, pain in the back or side, vomiting, feeling significantly unwell, blood in the urine, recurrent symptoms, pregnancy or symptoms that worsen or fail to improve may require further medical assessment. Your pharmacist will advise on the appropriate next step, and urgent symptoms should be assessed promptly.
