Travel Vaccinations for United Arab Emirates

Most travel to Dubai and the wider United Arab Emirates carries a low risk of vaccine-preventable illness, and many travellers simply need their routine UK vaccinations kept up to date.

Hepatitis A and tetanus cover are the most commonly discussed, with hepatitis B, rabies or typhoid considered for longer stays or specific plans. A travel consultation confirms what suits your trip, your health and your itinerary.

Traveller advice

Take the usual care with food and water hygiene, as hepatitis A and typhoid can spread through contaminated food and water.

Summers in the UAE are very hot, so drink water regularly, limit time in direct sun in the middle of the day and watch for signs of heat illness.

Rabies can be present in animals in the region. Avoid contact with stray animals, and if you are bitten, scratched or licked on broken skin, wash the wound and seek urgent medical care.

What you need depends on you, where you are going and how long you are staying, so book a consultation, ideally four to six weeks before you travel, and we will advise accordingly.
