Travel vaccinations
Children's travel vaccinations
Children who travel need the same careful planning as adults, and sometimes more. Our Rochdale clinic in Greater Manchester provides travel vaccinations and advice for babies, children and teenagers, tailored to your family's trip.
Children are not at lower risk
Children are not at lower risk when they travel. They can be more vulnerable to dehydration and to infectious disease, so pre-travel protection matters.
Vaccines for children
Depending on your destination and your child's history, we may recommend:
- Hepatitis A
- Hepatitis B
- Typhoid
- MMR catch-up
- Diphtheria, tetanus and polio (DTP) boosters
- Rabies, where the risk applies
Age and dosing
Doses and schedules are age-specific. We align catch-up vaccinations with the NHS childhood schedule so your child stays on track.
Consent
A parent or legal guardian must give consent for a child's vaccination. Please bring your child's vaccination records to the appointment where you have them.
Making it easier for your child
Our clinicians use techniques to minimise discomfort and keep the experience calm, particularly for younger children.
When to book
Book 6 to 8 weeks before travel where possible, as some courses need more than one dose.
